Maxine is a Professor and Director for the Australian Center for International and Tropical Health at The University of Queensland in Australia. The center was established in 1995, striving to improve the health of populations in Australia and Internationally through education, research and service.
Stemming from a profound interest in medicine, Maxine entered the medical field with three degrees from the University of Queensland, a Phd, MBBS and a Masters Degree all in the Health and Medical Sectors. Intrinsically motivated to extend her knowledge to others, Maxine pursued a career as an educator, focusing on the subject that holds her deepest interest Public Health. For the past 20 years, Maxine has taught thousands of students about Health Systems and Polices and is highly regarded for her research efforts.
Frequently referred to for her insight on current health issues, Maxine often participates in interviews and public reports. Maxine is affiliated with the Australiasian Public Health and Medicine, and Public Health of Australia. On her free time, Maxine enjoys art and playing tennis.
